Have you been wondering about how minutes work with Grasshopper? Well, you’re in the right place! We’ve compiled all the information you need to know about your minutes in one convenient post.
So, let’s dive in –
When are you using your minutes?
Minutes accrue anytime your Grasshopper number is in action. Whether you answer the call or not, whenever our virtual phone system is being utilized, minutes are being consumed.
Examples of when you’re using your minutes:
-
When Grasshopper accepts the call until it’s ended
-
When a caller listens to your main greeting
-
While a caller is leaving a voicemail
-
During an active conversation
-
When you access your system via phone
How are minutes billed?
Minutes are billed from the moment Grasshopper answers the call until it’s disconnected, with a minimum of 18 seconds per call. We bill minutes in 6-second increments.
What if you go over your plan’s allotted minutes?
If you exceed your plan’s allotted minutes, the overage rate is $0.06 per minute. We’ll charge your card to cover any overages once you surpass $100 worth of additional minutes.
Do unused minutes roll over?
Unfortunately, unused minutes do not carry over to the next month.
How are minutes charged for forwarded calls?
For forwarded calls, minutes start accumulating from the moment Grasshopper accepts the call until it’s ended. Each use of the Grasshopper system counts towards your minutes, including the time it takes to connect the call and any time spent listening to greetings or leaving voicemails.
What is the toll-free rate with Grasshopper?
Both incoming and outgoing toll-free calls are charged at a rate of $0.06 per minute.
Why use both your provider’s minutes and Grasshopper minutes?
Since Grasshopper does not provide a dial tone, you’ll need to use your phone provider’s minutes to initiate the call. Additionally, you’re using Grasshopper minutes for accessing features throughout the call duration.
