Customers were left with no service except for SOS mode, leading to widespread frustration. Verizon finally acknowledged the issue at 11:48 a.m., stating that they were aware of the “issue impacting service” and that their engineers were actively working on a solution.

The outage reached its peak in the morning, with over 100,000 queries being reported. However, according to Tom’s Guide, this number has decreased to around 40,000 queries. Reuters also reported that the FCC is currently investigating the cause and extent of the disruptions.

Finally, at 5:04 p.m., Verizon updated customers, stating that the issue was a “network issue” that had begun to be resolved. They assured customers that they were working tirelessly to fully resolve the problem.
