Bank of America customers were left frustrated on Wednesday as they encountered various issues accessing their accounts, ranging from log-in problems to seeing their balances incorrectly listed at $0.
Addressing the situation, Bank of America has released a statement acknowledging that “some clients are experiencing an issue accessing their accounts” and assured customers that they are actively working to resolve the problem.
The statement from the bank read, “These issues are being addressed and have largely been resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
According to data from Downdetector, the number of queries related to Bank of America issues surged to over 12,000 around 1 p.m. EST. Even by 5 p.m., more than 3,000 individuals were still reporting problems. The widespread nature of the issue was evident, with customers from locations like Los Angeles to Nebraska reporting outages.
While the cause of the problem has not been publicly disclosed by Bank of America, a report from CNN indicated that service was returning to normalcy.
