President Joe Biden’s election campaign last month outraised and outspent his challenger Donald Trump, according to disclosures published on Saturday. Despite a rocky debate performance, Biden’s campaign coffers swelled during June.

Biden, a Democrat, raised $64 million and spent $59 million in June, primarily on campaign ads. This left his campaign with $95 million in the bank at the end of the month, as reported in filings to the Federal Election Commission.

In contrast, Republican Trump’s campaign raised $21 million and spent $10 million in June, ending the month with $128 million in cash.

Following the June 27 debate between the 81-year-old Biden and 78-year-old Trump, Biden saw an influx of over $5 million in donations. However, recent reports suggest a decline in fundraising for Biden in July.

Democratic lawmakers have urged Biden to withdraw from the race due to concerns over his age and debate performance. This has led to a noticeable drop in fundraising for Biden in the current month.

Despite the tight race between Biden and Trump in national polls, Trump has maintained a lead in battleground states crucial to the November 5 presidential election.

As pressure mounts on Biden, there is speculation about the future of his campaign funds. Should Biden exit the race, funds could transfer to Vice President Kamala Harris or the Democratic Party.

In May, Trump had outraised Biden due to increased donations as he faced legal challenges. However, Biden’s recent surge in fundraising has put him ahead.

Super PACs supporting both candidates have also seen significant contributions. The largest super PAC backing Trump, MAGA Inc, raised over $22 million in June, while Biden’s super PAC received a $3 million donation from LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman.
