Character skills like honesty, rationality, agreeableness, grit, and care are often associated with surface metrics like wealth or power. This assumption is incorrect, and making judgments based on vague measures of class can be misleading.
In any community, you are likely to find a similar percentage of bad actors, and sometimes the more affluent individuals may exhibit higher levels of selfishness. Behavior such as shoplifting can be comparable to cheating on taxes.
