How I Turned a High School Side Hustle into a Lucrative Opportunity

When I was in high school, I decided I wanted to get a different job than just working at the pizza place near my house. I wanted to explore new opportunities and make more money.

During my sophomore/junior year, I noticed that many websites had terrible copy that was affecting their sales. So, I took a bold step and emailed about 50 of them, offering my services to fix their websites and help them attract more customers.

Out of the 50 emails I sent, I received 20 replies. I had serious calls with 3 companies, and eventually, I landed a gig with a company that paid me $20/hour and even provided me with a cellphone to make sales calls. This was a game-changer for me as a high school student.

It was an eye-opening experience to realize that I could make $20/hour doing something more enjoyable than my minimum wage job at the pizza place.

It all started with a simple pitch. I identified a problem, crafted a solution, and hit send. This proactive approach set me apart and opened doors to exciting opportunities.

Most people wait for instructions on what to do, but those who can identify problems and offer solutions will always find interesting work and generous compensation.

For the past 10 years, I’ve been eager to share with you how changing your approach—taking unconventional paths in money, business, and relationships—can be truly liberating.

When I discuss earning more, I often encounter negative reactions from people who doubt their worth. But I challenge them to recognize the value of the skills they already possess.

  • Oil changes (a skill that can be learned in 20 minutes)
  • Restaurant dining (could be replaced with home-cooked meals)
  • Designer clothing (can be substituted with affordable options)

However, words can only do so much. I prefer to show you through my own experiences. I’ve hired a personal chef, a stylist for photo shoots, and assistants for various tasks, proving that there is demand for diverse skills and services.

By taking proactive steps and being open to unconventional opportunities, you can pave the way for a lucrative and fulfilling career.
