An Experiment: Pumpkin French Toast Recipe
Recently, I found myself with a surplus of pumpkin bread and decided to try something new. A follower on Instagram suggested making French toast with it, and I was intrigued. Since my family loves French toast and I’m a huge fan of all things pumpkin, I gave it a shot – and it was a hit!
I took my favorite French Toast recipe from my beloved Better Homes & Gardens Cookbook and adapted it to use pumpkin bread. The result was a delightful twist on a classic dish!
Ingredients for Pumpkin French Toast
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- Several slices of leftover pumpkin bread (or any bread you have on hand)
How to Make Pumpkin French Toast
1. Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium heat.
2. In a shallow bowl or pie plate, combine eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
3. Dip each slice of pumpkin bread into the egg mixture until fully coated.
