Reports from Vital Vegas suggest that the Mirage is currently focusing on paying out over $1.6 million in unclaimed jackpots before closing its doors for good. The casino has limited its operations to 400 machines to properly audit and distribute the remaining funds.

Established in 1989, the Mirage, part of the Wynn brand, originally brought luxury to the Strip and was home to the Siegfried & Roy show. Despite its closure, the property is set to undergo a transformation and rebranding as the Hard Rock Las Vegas. In a generous move, the company has also committed to providing $80 million in severance packages for the displaced Mirage employees.

As stated on the Mirage’s official Facebook page, “Over the next two months we will bid farewell to this iconic and historic property and then we will commence an incredible transformation. We would like to thank all team members at The Mirage for their incredible commitment and helping us provide memorable experiences for our guests.”
