Former President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk recently faced backlash during a livestream event on X, with allegations of attempting to intimidate and threaten workers. The United Auto Workers union filed federal labor charges against the two men, accusing them of trying to prevent employees from participating in protected activities like strikes.

Trump’s remarks during the event were considered illegal and unsettling, as he advocated for firing workers who engaged in strikes. The UAW emphasized that under U.S. law, employees cannot be terminated solely for going on strike, and any threats by an employer to do so violate workers’ rights.

UAW President Shawn Fain condemned the actions of Trump and Musk, stating that they want the working class to remain silent and obedient. The UAW has a history of defending workers’ rights and recently endorsed Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala Harris.

In a controversial move, after Musk took control of Twitter and rebranded it as X, he implemented significant layoffs, including letting go of thousands of employees and senior leadership. Musk’s approach to layoffs has been criticized, with one executive being fired for resisting further job cuts.

Despite the allegations and legal charges, both Trump and Musk have remained silent on the matter. The clash between labor rights and corporate interests continues to be a contentious issue in the current landscape of business and politics.
