Small business owners are finally taking a stand. They are fed up with the challenges they face every day. But instead of suffering in silence, entrepreneurs are coming together to make their voices heard.
Let’s take a look at some of the exciting movements that are sweeping the country:
1. Small Business Saturday – This movement aims to promote shopping at local businesses. With support from organizations like Count Me In, NAWBO, Facebook, SCORE, and Yelp, it encourages consumers to support their community shops.
2. Independent We Stand – Launched in September, this movement is backed by many local Chambers of Commerce. While it focuses on encouraging consumers to shop locally, it also provides a platform for entrepreneurs to connect.
3. National Entrepreneurs’ Day – Advocates are pushing for November 19 to be recognized as National Entrepreneurs’ Day. The Global Entrepreneurship Week by The Kauffman Foundation will be celebrating this day for the first time this year.
4. The Innovation Movement – Taking a different approach, this movement focuses on issues like deficit reduction, immigration, and free trade. Their videos highlight how restrictions on immigration can stifle innovation in America.
5. Entrepreneurs’ Movement – Formerly known as Build a Stronger America, this movement focuses on legislative changes to support small businesses. They recently rebranded themselves as the Entrepreneurs’ Movement.
It’s fascinating to see these movements gaining traction, especially as many business owners tend to operate independently. Will these movements be able to unite and create a stronger impact? Only time will tell.
If you’re part of any of these movements or others, feel free to share your experiences in the comments below. Let’s discuss how joining a movement can benefit small business owners!
