Welcome to a world of possibilities!
Have you ever stopped to consider the defaults in your organization?
When faced with a new idea or opportunity, there are two approaches that organizations tend to take:
1. In some organizations, the default is to say yes to new ideas unless there is a strong reason to say no.
2. In others, the default is to say no unless someone presents a compelling argument for yes.
In organizations where saying no is the norm, every individual holds veto power. This can often lead to a bias towards maintaining the status quo and resisting change.
On the contrary, in organizations where saying yes is encouraged, any objections must be backed by strong reasoning to impede progress.
If your current approach is yielding positive results, by all means, continue down that path. However, if you find that it’s time for a change, don’t hesitate to acknowledge and address the defaults in your organization.
