Do you ever feel like the most challenging aspects of your day-to-day work are also the most important? It’s like heavy lifting, emergencies, dangerous tasks – all with high stakes and difficulty.

But let’s not forget that the valuable parts of your work are what really matter. Solving problems for your customers is what you’re ultimately getting paid for.

Take, for example, running a successful condiments business. Sure, making ketchup involves a lot of hard work – steam, heat, heavy objects, supply chains. But the crucial part is securing shelf space, promoting your product, and honoring promises to distributors and customers.

We can’t ignore the hard parts, but that doesn’t mean we have to tackle them alone. Sometimes, it’s smarter to outsource certain tasks or diversify your offerings without compromising on quality.

Building a trusted brand is essential, while dealing with commodity products can be tough.

It’s easy to convince ourselves that the hard parts are also the important ones, but that’s a trap that can keep us stagnant. If you’ve mastered something important, don’t burden yourself with unnecessary challenges.
