It seems that even the biggest communication giants aren’t immune to unexpected mishaps. Verizon Communications (NYSE:) wireless unit found itself in hot water recently when it was discovered that they failed to deliver 911 calls during an outage back in December 2022 in six states. As a result, the company has agreed to pay a hefty $1.05 million fine to resolve the issue.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) revealed that the outage, which lasted for one hour and forty-four minutes, caused hundreds of 911 calls to go unanswered through Verizon Wireless’s network. This incident was eerily similar to another outage experienced by Verizon Wireless in October 2022, raising concerns about the reliability of their services.
